An other singer I could not find any information on.
I only know he released 5 singles on the Ember label, and they where mostly rock numbers.

The Rajah is from Barbados, I could not find any information on who/what The Rajah is the singer or the band. From the name I would think it's only the singer. Eight songs where released under this name. The last one was in 1981.

"Down On My Knees" was released after I had left Suriname, but songs like these where always send to friends and family and the many Suriname collectors living in The Netherlands.
There's a stamp on the scan from one of those collectors who had a record shop in Rotterdam.
This ballad is one of my favorite Caribbean ballads, I love the begging voice of the singer. He's really hurt and he wants her back.

Sorry for neglecting you the past few weeks, but I'm in the middle of reorganizing my music and it's taking longer then I had expected.

Todays song is among my favorites (the'78 version). My kids always complain when I play this song, cause for about 4 minutes and a few seconds I'm alone in this world and I pump up the volume.
What a great deep soul ballad.
Eddie has redone the song in 1991, I'll put both versions in a nice zip for you.

Holloway also was a member of the "Soul Pleasers" who released "I Found A Love" on the Living Legend Label. Sir Shambling was so kind to send me a copy of that song (still looking for the 45). Thanks again John.

Larry & Ferdie - A Promise Is A Comfort To A Fool (Teneico-33)'65

Larry Marschall & Ferdie Nelson both recorded extensively during the sixties.

This song is taken from Vol 7 of the "Top Sounds From Top Deck" series.

A lovely typical Jamaican ballad from 1965 by the duo on the Tuneico label.

This will be my last post in the X-mas & New Years series.
Todays group was together from 1961 until 1971, when their lead singer went solo.

It's a doo-wop ballad with a talking part about halfway into the song. The Uniques never committed them self to one style and are basically put in the "Blue Eyed Soul" corner.
