Clarence Alabama Music Hall Of Fame
Clarence Carter released 2 albums on the "Venture" label. The first earned him the titel "Come Back Artist of The Year" in 1981. "If I Stay" is from this album. A lovely ballad, dripping with emotions, his voice still had it.Ever since I first heard his voice in my teens it caught me, and it still does especially when he sings ballads like this one.

I don't know what it is about this song ... CC somehow seems to sound as passionate as he usually does.

To me the passion in this song does not show/feel as it does in his other songs, it's in the way he stretches and pronounces some of the words, the emotion is not kicking you in the face it's almost not there and that makes it deeper to me. I hope it makes any sense, my English is not as good as I want it to be to really tell it the way I feel it.
